Local Councillor Anne Simpson for Central Buchan will be hosting monthly drop-in surgeries at Strichen Library on a Saturday morning from 10.15am-11am. 

All welcome, no appointment necessary.

Alford Wool Spinning Group will be meeting in the library to work on their lovely craft on the 1st Saturday of the month.  If you are interested in learning a new skill or if you are a spinner already new members are very welcome to join the group.

Immerse yourself in Macduff Marine Aquarium and spend an hour with an aquarium Marine Master for an in-depth guided tour.

Enjoy an exclusive tour of the aquarium, discover the sea life, the big characters, aquarium stories and what it takes to keep hundreds of marine critters healthy and happy. Get hands on feeding the fish and access behind the scenes areas not normally available to visitors. With your own Marine Master, you can tailor your tour to suit your interests, then afterwards go back and explore the aquarium again at your own pace.

Available for small groups only on selected dates.

Cost for a one-hour tour:
Adult: £18
Child: £10

Come and join us for our ASN friendly relaxed Lego session at Portlethen Library.

We will have Duplo and standard Lego available in a quiet side room adjacent to the main library.

This session must be booked and Parents/Carers must remain at all times.

Please just book a place for the participant not the parent/carer.

Sessions are for pre-school children with a parent or carer. 

This session will be led by a member of our team who has recently attended Bookbug with Makaton training. The session will include elements of Makaton signing, for example the Hello/Goodbye song and 1 rhyme. As staff develop their skills they will be adding more signed songs and rhymes.

PLEASE NOTE that one booking is only required per household (i.e., 1 Adult and children) attending this event.

We will accept walk-ins; however, we are limiting numbers that can attend due to space in which the session or event takes place.

To avoid disappointment, we would recommend booking a space for this activity where possible.

Please cancel your space if you can no longer attend.

Open, friendly and informal event for dementia type illness, their families and friends to meet other people and "hae a news".
