The Oxford Dictionary of National Biography gives you access to over 63,000 biographies, 75 million words, 12,000 portraits of significant, influential or notorious figures who shaped British history.

Three online encyclopaedias are available in World Book Online - Kids (primary age), Student, (secondary age) Advanced (adults) There are thousands of articles, as well as hundreds of maps, videos, and other media for all ages.

The British Newspaper Archive gives access to millions of pages of British and Irish newspapers from 1703 -2003 including selected local newspapers. Content includes news articles, family notices, obituaries, advertisements and illustrations.
