Here you’ll find uplifting, engaging and creative activities to boost your wellbeing, specifically designed with older carers in mind.  With details of special events and quick links to useful cultural resources, it’s a chance to recharge your batteries, grab some me-time and connect with like-minded people. Photography Workshop

Want to take better photos with your phone or camera? Pick up great tips from a professional on Shifting Focus, our three-session photography course. From mastering the basics to exploring more specialist techniques, learn how to create beautiful images you’ll want to share with friends and family. Suitable for everyone, from beginners to experienced enthusiasts. Bring your own camera, phone or tablet.

Pottery Workshop

Experience the therapeutic qualities of clay at Clay Makes, a fun and relaxing pottery workshop. Learn how to make a decorative tile or number feature for your front door, adding your own creative twist. If you can’t make it in person, we’ll deliver the materials to your door and provide easy-to-follow instructions in a short online video. No experience needed, all materials provided, and no kiln or oven required. 

The same workshop will take place at:

  • Fraserburgh, 11am-12.30pm, Tuesday 22 July
  • Your Home, at a time and date to suit you.

Local History

Ever wondered about the history of your home or a local historic property? Take a step back in time at a talk from the Local Studies Team. Learn how to trace past owners, explore fascinating historic maps of Aberdeenshire, uncover intriguing detail in newspapers, parish records and so much more, in our Local Studies Centre. With these detective techniques under your belt, who knows what you’ll find?

Creative Writing Workshop

Unlock your creative potential in from Words to Stories, a short programme of engaging Creative Writing sessions. Whether you've always dreamt of writing stories or simply want to explore your imaginative side, this activity is perfect for you. Over three sessions, you'll be supported by a professional writer who will guide you through the process of creative writing using various prompts and techniques.

Online Book Group

Dive into a good book and share your thoughts with others in friendly and informal online sessions, even if you’ve only read a few chapters! Books are available in both print and eBook formats. ‘Real’ books (physical copies) can be collected from your preferred library or delivered straight to your door via our Doorstep Delivery Service. Session one is an introductory chat to discuss how the group will run.
