Dr Alice Krzanich of the University of Aberdeen will delve into the lives of female domestic servants and the laws that shaped their working conditions and their lives, including cases from the North-east of Scotland. The hiring and firing of servants; seduction and illegitimacy; and the disappointed hopes of servants and their employers will all be touched upon
