Bookbug sessions are aimed at babies, toddler or pre-school children and their families, featuring songs, rhymes and stories. 

PLEASE NOTE that one booking is only required per household (i.e., 1 Adult and children) attending this event.

We will accept walk-ins; however, we are limiting numbers that can attend due to space in which the session or event takes place.

To avoid disappointment, we would recommend booking a space for this activity where possible.

Please cancel your space if you can no longer attend.

A weekly adult crafting group.  Bring along your own project and work alongside like-minded crafters.  Sharing ideas and tips, while making new friends.

This is a free group and open to crafters of all abilities.

Come and join us for our ASN friendly relaxed Lego session at Portlethen Library.

We will have Duplo and standard Lego available in a quiet side room adjacent to the main library.

This session must be booked and Parents/Carers must remain at all times.

Please just book a place for the participant not the parent/carer.

Live Life Aberdeenshire Libraries are once again taking part in the Grampian Wellbeing Festival.  Our health and wellbeing events provide an opportunity for all ages to engage with other people, develop friendships and try new activities

Each year, Dementia Awareness Week (DAW) is held with the aim of raising awareness of dementia and helping improve the lives of people with dementia, their families and carers.  Dee from Alzheimer's will be in the library from 3-5pm to talk to you about support in the local area. 

Burnbanks Village, near Portlethen, has been in existence for over two-hundred years. 

From the 1950s onwards, it lay in various stages of dereliction and was finally abandoned in the early 1980s, leaving shattered ruins and roofless shells.

It was resurrected in 1992 and is now a fantastic place to live with a deep community spirit.

Joe McLeod has lived in Burnbanks Village for thirty two years and in 2021 published a book on the history of the village. 

Joe’s talk will feature stories from the village and copies of the book will be available to buy.
