This is the first biography of 'Boy' Browning, whose name is inextricably linked with the creation and employment of Britain's airborne forces in the Second World War. In 1932, he married the novelist Daphne du Maurier and went on to become a close adviser to the Queen and Prince Philip who respected his his judgment.
