Georgie : a teenage memoir

Burton, George G.2016
Books, Manuscripts
Wee Georgie Burton's story of his teenage years in Dundee in the 60s and 70s saw changes in Dundee and indeed the world. Within a brief 6 years everything changed: bulldozers tore down old Dundee and built the planners' "Brave New World"; the Tay Road Bridge opened up the town and Timex, NCR, Valentine's, Levi Strauss and others took over from Jute; the music was wonderful, the football exquisite, man walked on the moon and George Burton dreamed his dreams in the bedroom of his parents' flat on South Road in Charleston.
