Scots roses : of hedgerows and wild gardens

McMurtrie, Mary1998
Books, Manuscripts
Raised abundantly in the nineteenth century, beloved by Gertrude Jekyll at Munstead Wood, Scots roses declined with the arrival of brightly coloured, long-flowering roses in the twentieth century. Yet many of the varieties and variations have tenaciously survived, and it is these that Mary McMurtie has chosen to record in her distinctive watercolour style.
