Crime drama starring Jim Carrey as a troubled detective who sets out to solve a murder which sheds light on a crime fiction author as the main suspect. When a businessman is ruthlessly killed, the way in which it is carried out bears stark similarities to a character's murder in a newly-published novel by a writer named Kozlow (Marton Csokas). With nothing left in his life to fight for, Detective Tadek (Carrey) is able to push his investigation to the limit as he delves in to the darkest recesses of the underworld.
